Networking & Computer Hardware Club

Statement of Objectives:                

The main Objectives of the club is  to give some knowledge to the students about the present and past developments of the computer hardware and the new technologies that are used in the computer networking.

MONTHLY REPORT-1 
26/9/07
Today, the first meeting of the Computer Hardware and Networking club was held. The President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary of the club were chosen among the students.

The posts are as follows

        3) Secretary-Ajay Paul S8 IT
        4) Joint Secretary-Abhishek-S4 ME

Six other members were selected to form the main committee:

The meeting of the club was conducted in R104. Gokul, the President of the club, showed a PowerPoint presentation giving a brief overview of the computer hardware and networking concepts.
A few computer hardware components, like RAM, processor chip, etc were shown to the members. He also, explained the basic outlay of a computer CPU.
Future classes were also discussed, decisions were taken to give about an idea on computer assembling.

The members of the club were taken to the computer lab, they were shown various components constituting a CPU. The mother board and its various components were explained in detail by five volunteers, chosen from the club.
The club was divided into groups with a team leader for each group, the team leaders was chosen on the basis of level of their computer hardware knowledge. The groups and their leaders are..

The groups were given projects to do for the next club meeting. It was decided that competitions and presentations would be organized among various groups.

The meeting today was also held in the computer lab. All the groups were asked to share whatever information they had gathered about the first computer. Three girls from the S3 batch were put in charge to gather all the information collected regarding any assignments given to the groups.
The leaders of the groups were taught to computer assembling by one of the instructors. The ideas for future assignments were suggested and were selected for implementation.
