ITANIA

     The combined Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS & IT) was started in 2001 with the objective to provide facilities for training, study and excellence in the field of computing. The Dept. was bifurcated to form an independent dept. of IT in January 2006.

     Our Principal Fr. Jose Kannampuzha made the formal inauguration of the dept. by cutting the ribbon at the dept. entrance in the Divisional Block-A on 7^th April 2006. Fr. Aji Athimootil our manager, all HODs, teaching and non-teaching faculties and the students of IT were present to witness the humble ceremony and the meeting that followed. The meeting started with a prayer song by S6 IT students. In his speech, the Principal spoke about the need of an independent dept. and of the current IT Scenario. Midhu Tresa Jose of S8 IT entertained the gathering with her gifted voice. Mr. Renju Jose, Lecturer in IT briefed the audience of the new dept. the need for discipline, responsibility and cooperation from all corners and of the IT associations IT Fest IT'Trix 06. The meeting came to a solemn conclusion by the vote of thanks proposed by the HOD Ms. Sandhya Ramakrishnan. The meeting was anchored by Mary George Parayil of S6 IT.

Department Library

      The dept. of IT has its own library which houses a wide variety of text books related to academic subjects. Monographs on various courses, practical records, lab manuals, project reports and articles on new technological advancements and innovations in the IT industry.

ITANIA (Information Technology Association for Nurturing Innovative Adepts)

     ITANIA the association of IT dept. elected the first office bearers on April 3^rd 2006 with Arun John Varghese of S6 as President, Deepu Issac of S4 as Vice-President. Mr. Renju Jose, Lecturer in IT was decided as Faculty Coordinator for the same.

IT'TRIX 06

      IT association ITANIA hosted an intra college techno-cultural fest by the name 'It'trix 06' on 19^th April 2006 with the caption 'Ignite the limits'. The main attractions of the fest were Directors Chair (Movie-making), Fire Blade (Maze), Intermezzo (Ad creation), Thunderbolt (Network Gaming) and Eminence (Best Manager).

IT'TRIX 07

     ITANIA hosted the annual intra college techno-cultural festival again on 10^th May 2007 by the name 'It'trix 07'. The highlights of the program were Mind Quest (Maze), Shutter bug (Photography), Intermezzo (Ad creation), Thunderbolt (Network Gaming), Directors Chair (Movie Making) and 5 minutes 2 fame (Personality).

A Staff event - Tug of War—added to the grandeur of the day.
