The first meeting of EDA club was held. A brief structure and description regarding the club's goals, activities, working principles and its applications was discussed by the mentors. The office bearers were selected from the respective years.

The president, Avinash Prabhakar, through power point presentation, took a seminar on basic electronics and introduced the concepts of analog amplifier and digital circuits and elaborated the differences between them. Then Chinchu Joseph of S7 ECE-A, discussed the simple software used as an EDA tool.

Avinash Prabhakar took a class on microcontroller and microprocessor. He explained the working, differences, advantages and applications of both devices. A chaser circuit was simulated using 8051.

The meeting was presided by Prof. K.G.Satheesh Kumar, chief mentor and HOD of the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. He explained about the various tools used in EDA such as Orcad, Proteuse, Electronic Work Bench, Edwin XP etc and discussed the various ways a circuit can be symbolically and schematically represented through layout. He gave a brief description about the various aspects of circuit, logic and system design.

The club conducted a debate about the topic 'Award giving ceremonies and reality shows are fake or not. An attempt to bring out the communication skills in the students, it turned out to be fruitful as most the students utilized the opportunity to bring out their views to the motion. | |
